Message from the Dean

For those who wish to gain entrance to the Graduate School of Health Sciences, Niigata University

The Master’s course of Graduate School of Health Sciences, Niigata University, was established on the 1st of April, 2004 as the first graduate school of Health Sciences in Niigata prefecture, and thereafter the Doctor’s course was founded on April 1st, 2007.

The Graduate School of Health Sciences consists of three Departments including Nursing, Radiological Technology and Medical Technology. It is our main purpose to nurture advanced medical specialists and educators/researchers for Health Sciences.

The principle and the aim of our Graduate School are as follows:

1. Principle of our Graduate School
Our basic principle is to contribute significantly to the development of Health Sciences by promoting health support and preventing illness from the comprehensive standpoints of Nursing, Radiological Technology and Medical Technology.

2. Aim of our Graduate School
We aim to nurture the following persons with the abilities to perform innovative research and use global sense.

1) Capable researchers, who can promote the development of Health Sciences by applying sufficient knowledge and sophisticated technologies relating to the health sciences.

2) Excellent educators, who possess wide knowledge and tremendous research abilities concerning the health sciences and can enthusiastically dedicate themselves to nurturing medical specialists.

3) Advanced medical specialists, who can play a leading role with advanced management and practice abilities and perform an active research about clinical themes relating to Health Sciences.
